Musical Column

“Musical Column” is an computational design exercise in the course “Generative Art and Digital Fabrication”, made up by multiple layers(1200 layers in total), completely generated in the computer and fabricated by the CNC machine. This column is generated from the datum which are sucked from a song. The datum from the song are analysed and transformed in the computer by programming using the Java. The transformed datum control the shape of the layers and the continuous of the datum will keep the shapes changing smoothly.
