Pixel Replica is a self-organizing map that replicates any images on various scales. The program “tiles” the sample image by simulating the implicit patterns inside the image rather than by copying the image. Furthermore, this “learning” process could mimic the image with voxels, in other words, invent a 3D version of the 2D image. The “mimicking” process does not only reproduce the original patterns, but also creates novel compositions of the patterns. The performance of the program is statistically independent on the samples.
