The digital fabrication studio ‘Tooling’ seeks synergy between codes, design, materials and fabrication. The Processing IDE is employed as a tool for transforming inputs, developing designs and producing CNC data. We emphasize a digital chain from early-stage design to final production. Digital tooling does not only pursue precision and productivity but also motivates methodological innovations in design. Thirteen students(4^th year) have worked in five groups, for eight weeks. They learned Processing, the programming language, mainly in the first two weeks from scratch. Then each group developed their products and fabrication techniques independently though they share their knowledge on coding, materials and CNC devices.
